From jessicadpratt at gmail.com Tue Oct 4 15:29:12 2011 From: jessicadpratt at gmail.com (Jessica Pratt) Date: Tue, 4 Oct 2011 15:29:12 -0700 Subject: [SCB Chapters] Seeking Conferences Coordinator to serve on SCB Chapters Committee Message-ID: Dear Fellow Chapter Members & Affiliates, We are currently seeking someone to fill the position of Conferences Coordinator on the SCB Chapters Committee. If there is interest from more than one person, this position could be CO-coordinated. The new Conferences Coordinator will work closely with myself through the NACCB 2012 meeting in July, and take on the position fully after that date. The official position description is attached, however I will outline the major duties per my experience serving in this position the past two years. My main role has been to organize Chapter-related events for the ICCBs and NACCBs (International & NA Congresses, respectively). This includes submitting workshop or symposium proposals for the conferences, helping to organize a workshop for Chapters at the conferences, scheduling a Chapters business meeting and social event at each conference, and sending emails/collecting RSVPs for such events. Most of these tasks are done with collaboration and input from others on the Chapters Committee. You do not have to attend all conferences to be successful in this role as much of the organization and planning happens by email. Additional duties include attending quarterly conference calls of the Chapters Committee (typically through Skype), keeping a record of smaller conferences or events organized by Chapters globally (this information is submitted by Chapters in their annual report and it is just a matter of compiling it), and providing input on other matters related to Chapter functioning, when requested to do so. If you are interested in serving as Conferences Coordinator, please send an email to Jessica Pratt (jessicadpratt at gmail.com) with the following information: (Note: please DO NOT respond directly to this email as it posts to the listserve.) 1. Name 2. Chapter / University / Business Affiliation 3. Statement of your interest in the position 4. Short description of relevant experience Please feel free to email for more information.
