As the policy coordinator, I'll help engage chapter representatives in policy discussions, aid chapters in navigating the policy approvals process found online at and answer any policy related questions you may have. For those of you who couldn't make it to the conference this year in Edmonton, one of the hot topic policy issues discussed was the Keystone XL Pipeline, a controversial pipeline that would carry as much as 900,000 barrels of Canadian oil sands petroleum each day from Alberta to the Gulf of Mexico coast. Fearing the long lasting environmental impacts that such a pipeline could have upon endangered species, the SCB policy team prepared several press releases, had a public radio broadcast, and a television spot on the CBC News while in Canada. Now, the issue is being brought before the U.S. Senate, where the SCB continues to make our presence known. For a full description of our formal stance on the issue, visit our policy website at . Also, sometime over the next month keep your eyes peeled for our policy survey. In an effort to make policy activities more accessible to chapters, the SCB Policy team wants to know where you think we should focus our policy priorities. This is an exciting time for chapter involvement in policy and SCB Global is seeking your help in addressing regional, national, and even global policy issues. In the mean time, don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have at . I look forward to working with all of you, Cameron Kovach -------------- next part -------------- An embedded message was scrubbed...
