From nagl0026 at umn.edu Sun Jan 10 08:57:22 2010 From: nagl0026 at umn.edu (Fiona Nagle) Date: Sun, 10 Jan 2010 08:57:22 -0800 Subject: [SCB Chapters] Please Read ASAP: SCB strategic planning Message-ID: <00346E1A-EB97-4C33-B403-5B19FB21647E@umn.edu> Hello all chapters, Happy New Year! I hope you all had wonderful and restful holidays :). It's a new decade and a new planning phase in SCB. I've been asked to help review SCB's 2006-2010 Strategic Plan (SP). You've all been doing terrific work as SCB groups; this is a great opportunity to highlight how Chapters have been pushing forward the organization's overall vision and to enable Chapter voices to be better heard in the next SP. As a start, can you please let me know if your Chapter is operating with its own written (or verbal) strategic plan, work plan, or annual objectives plan? In 2006 in San Jose, we had a great discussion led by Alan Thornhill on strategic planning for individual Chapters, and I'm wondering if any Chapters generated any documents after that. I'm currently reviewing implementation of the SP by the Executive Office, Sections, and Chapters. Please let me know by TUESDAY Jan 12. Also, if you can forward me any documents, I'd much appreciate it. Your input will help me and the rest of the SP committee think about how to better serve Chapters and SCB in the next SP. I'll be asking for your further input on the SP during the next few months. You can check it out at www.conbio.org/AboutUs/StrategicPlan/ 2006/. Aletris and I will also be reviewing and updating the Chapters Committee SP this spring, online at www.conbio.org/chapters/ info/SCBChaptersStrategicPlan%202-07short.pdf.
