And a big welcome to all the new officers who came on board last year -- awesome job on taking on leadership roles within SCB :). You're probably finding that leading a Chapter is both extremely rewarding and sometimes challenging. Know that your fellow officers across the world, from students to professionals, share your experiences and passion. This email is to let you know that TUESDAY MARCH 9, 5pm-6:30pm PST, will be the first Business Meeting of 2010 for all Chapters. These meetings will take place quarterly via telephone and replace the monthly conference calls that occurred from Oct 2008-Dec 2009. The focus of the quarterly calls will be to bring Chapters up to date on SCB and Chapter Committee business and to allow Chapters a forum for input and dialogue on Chapter business. Please arrange to have at least one officer or member of your Chapter on the call -- this should be a person(s) who can talk about your Chapter with other call participants and also report minutes back to your other officers and/ or members. The importance of your Chapter's participation on these calls cannot be over-emphasized. They are critical for connecting you with each other, for keeping your Chapter updated on SCB happenings, and for building capacity within your own Chapter. The monthly topic conference calls of the past were very well-received by all who participated, and their Chapters greatly benefitted from them. I'd like to see that benefit continue and to hear many more of you on the business meeting calls. Therefore, in recognition of the importance of your participation, priority for future Chapter project and travel grants will be given to those Chapters that join the quarterly calls. March 9 details are below. If you'd like to add something to the agenda, please email me by FRIDAY MARCH 5. I look forward to speaking with you!
