This is open to NA leaders from SCB chapters, the NA Section, the global board, and the executive office. Our priorities for this retreat will be to strengthen the interaction and information flow between Chapters and the Section (and other subgroups such as committees) and to further develop Chapter leadership skills. This will also be an excellent opportunity for you to build stronger relationships with your fellow SCB leaders. The goals will be better coordination among subgroups as well as better engagement of SCB members in the Society's work. **If you are unable to attend the conference, you are still invited to attend the retreat.** We plan to start with a fun and informal Saturday evening (Oct 3) and move into discussion all day Sunday (Oct 4). We will break Sunday night so people can prepare for an early start Monday morning at the conference. The location is a large cabin a few miles outside Flagstaff where people can stay overnight. No cost except to get there! Please take a moment to answer ?yes?, ?no?, or ?can only attend Sunday? on the doodle survey, and also feel free to send me any thoughts or comments. Please respond by SEPTEMBER 10. The southwest is ground zero for the intersection of conflicts over these resources and the climate change problem. This workshop will explore: (1) climate change projections for the southwest; (2) key stressors impacting biodiversity currently and in the future as viewed through the lens of climate change; and (3) propose policy recommendations for preparing ecosystems for the multitude of stressors triggered by energy use, land development, water over allocation, and climate change. Outcomes will be a working draft ? or conservation policy blueprint ? for the southwest that will guide SCB?s policy programs and allow the NA Section to work more strategically with its members and Chapters on national and global policy priorities. Similar workshops are proposed for Edmonton (2010) and Mexico (2011). Email dominick at nccsp.org for more info. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
