One of the agenda items will be discussion of the new Chapters Advisory Committee. The CAC has been in existence for 5 years, and is now going through an important growth spurt. Ergo... The chapters need to become more engaged with SCB-global, and vice versa. One way we'll achieve this is by enabling chapters to interact more directly with other groups within SCB in order to have a voice in broader decisions and to convey information back to the chapters as a whole. Toward these ends, I'm in dialogue with various BOG committees and the Social Science Working Group to establish a chapter's representative as a voice within those sub-groups. These representatives will also be members of the Chapters Advisory Committee, and will help open communications among the chapters, CAC, and SCB as a whole. What exciting times we live in! And your help is needed by either joining the CAC or providing feedback on how the CAC can better serve your needs. As a CAC member, you can volunteer to sit on one of these subgroups (these generally entail email exchanges and maybe a conference call). You can also help with other roles on the CAC, also outlined below. As you can see, the load is light and shared. The more, the merrier! The CAC is a fun and energetic committee that has a great track- record for making a real difference for SCB and the Chapters over the last 5 years. Now you too can make a difference to SCB as a whole! Please send me or Aletris a note if you're inspired to join us. Meanwhile, talk to you on Tuesday...
