From vinaya at fosonline.org Thu May 15 09:28:33 2008 From: vinaya at fosonline.org (Vinaya Swaminathan) Date: Thu, 15 May 2008 12:28:33 -0400 Subject: [Ana] Adaptive Management Training Survey Message-ID: <002001c8b6a8$b9143790$2b3ca6b0$@org> As members of a Society for Conservation Biology listserv, we are requesting your participation in a survey targeting conservation practitioners. Please take a minute to read the following and complete the online survey. To our colleagues in the conservation community, Foundations of Success (FOS) is a non-profit organization whose goal is to improve the practice of conservation through training in project cycle management. Project cycle management (also known as adaptive management) provides a method for making more informed decisions about strategies, testing the effectiveness of strategies used, and adapting strategies with lessons learned. FOS trainings are based on the Conservation Measures Partnership (CMP) Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation. CMP, a coalition of well-known conservation NGOs, developed these increasingly-accepted Open Standards as guidelines for the conservation community on how to carry out the steps in the project management cycle. Over the past few years, as the CMP Open Standards have been more widely adopted, FOS has witnessed steadily increasing demand for training in project cycle management. In response, FOS is exploring the expansion of its training offerings. FOS and David Gardiner & Associates have designed a short survey to help assess organizational needs within the conservation community - so as to help FOS provide trainings that organizations like yours would find most helpful in improving conservation results. The survey is available to you and your colleagues in English. We would greatly appreciate your input on this survey by May 31, 2008. The survey will take approximately 10 - 15 minutes, and your responses will remain anonymous.
