You are receiving this email because you are on one or more of our listservs. For those of you who are on more than one listserv, you will receive this message more than once. MOVING! After several years of relying on the kindness of The Nature Conservancy to provide us with a home, we finally just outgrew our space and purchased our own office! Our new office will be in the heart of the United States' capital, Washington, DC. We will soon bid a fond farewell to TNC with many, many thanks for their support hospitality over the years. On Thursday, April 24th, we will close our office in Arlington, Virginia and move to our new office space in Washington, DC. We will open our doors again on Tuesday, April 29th. The new address and phone number are listed in the signature below. For those of you who track these things, please update your records accordingly. We are extremely excited about the change - and for those of you who have seen our current office space, we're even more excited about the prospect of having windows! We look forward to showing off our new space to any or all of you whenever you may be in town. ANNUAL MEETING In other news, I'd like to take the opportunity to remind everyone of our upcoming annual meeting. This year, we will be hosted by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Chattanooga is nestled in a beautiful valley between the Appalachian and Cumberland mountain chains. A host of field trip opportunities await you along with our usual outstanding array of symposia and other programs. To register and/or to volunteer at the conference, visit www.conbio.org and click on the image of the Tennessee Valley. Be sure to stop by the SCB booth to learn about Sections, Chapters, Working Groups, and the Smith Fellows Program. OTHER UPDATES In June, the Smith Fellows program will announce the request for proposals for the Class of 2009 Smith Fellows with a deadline for receipt of application materials in September 2008. For more information on the Smith Fellows program and our current fellows, please visit http://www.conbio.org/SmithFellows/. Last, but not least, I'd also like to take this opportunity to let you know that we are making changes in our membership system as well. By the end of this year, we will have transitioned to a brand new membership system. The new system will give us many tools through which to serve you better in the future. Keep your eyes open for an updated look and feel come November 2008. That's all for now. Thank you so much for your continued support of the Society. Best wishes for a wonderful year, Laura ~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~ Membership Coordinator Society for Conservation Biology 4245 North Fairfax Drive, Suite 400 Arlington, VA 22203 +1.703.276.2384 www.conbio.org ***Attention: Effective 28 April 2008, SCB will have a new physical address and phone number.
