[AA Listerv] AA Section Call for Nominations Deadline Extended to 28 October

Dear SCB Australasian members,

We invite you to submit nominations for the next Board of Directors (BOD) elections of the Society for Conservation Biology - Australasian Section.  We have five open seats:

*** President Elect
*** Four Members At Large

Successful candidates will serve three year terms from 1 January 2008 until the 31 December 2010.

If you know of someone who would be a good candidate for one of these positions (including yourself; self-nominations are welcome) please reply to this e-mail and fill out the form below or send the form by e-mail to:

Richard Kingsford (richard.kingsford at unsw.edu.au), Nominations Officer, before 28 October 2007.

In the subject line please indicate 'SCB Australasian Section elections' to facilitate my work. In your message please be sure to indicate if the nomination is for President Elect or Member At Large position.

When I suggest we need "good" candidates, I mean someone who will bring wisdom and a willingness to work. Work includes travel to at least one BOD meeting per year.

IF YOU NOMINATE SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOURSELF DO IT WITH ENOUGH TIME THAT I CAN ASK FOR HIS OR HER ACCEPTANCE BEFORE THE DEADLINE.

**Nomination Form -- Board Of Directors, Society For Conservation Biology - Australasian Section**

Nominations are sought for five members on the Board of Directors.
DEADLINE:  20 October 2007
ELECTIONS: November 1 to November 30, 2007
TERM: 1 January 2008 to 31 December 2010

Nominees must be members in good standing of the Society for Conservation Biology and members of the Australasian Section and have to accept running for election before the deadline

By agreeing to stand for election, nominees indicate their willingness to serve the SCB- Australasian by attending all Board of Directors meetings during their term of office (three years for all board members).  In addition, board members are expected to be actively engaged in directing the SCB-Australasian Section through committee work.
