2 week intensive course (9am-5pm, Monday-Friday):     Monday 25 February 
to Friday 7 March, 2008

Griffith University - Gold Coast Campus 

A career in environmental science requires an understanding of the 
principles of experimental design and statistics including the critical 
reviewing of present knowledge and the development of a statistically 
robust design for research. 

The primary purpose of this course is to provide a firm basis in 
experimental design and an understanding of the philosophy of statistics 
that will allow students to apply these elements to their own research. It 
gives students practice in understanding statistics and experimental 
design (using computer exercises on data they collect) that allows them to 
critically review the literature relevant to their area of research. In 
the final 3 days of the course students apply concepts of experimental 
design to their own research projects. 

This subject is suitable for Honour's & Research Higher Degree (Pg.Dip., 
MSc & PhD) candidates, and external industry.
No prior knowledge in statistics is necessary. 

Enrolment costs are approximately $970 (normal HECS fee for a 10CP course) 
and includes the textbook used in the course.

Max. of 20 students - first come first serve basis = ENROL NOW !
